2.     Pedagogical Contents

After observation, please write a report on school pedagogical contents (where you were placed for practicum 2) according to topics as follows:

2.1      Teaching methods

After I observed my mentor when he teach. I got 3 methods which he always uses in his classes, as follow:

•      Uses visuals: While explaining an operation or skill, use a visual or graphic to help get the point across. This can be as simple as showing the lesson on a document camera or as savvy as using a video or other technology tool.

•      Makes connections: To help students make sense of concepts, provide them with connections to the real world or previously taught lessons. Always begin a new lesson with a reminder of the last.

•      Uses assessments: My mentor uses it to check in on student learning and drive future instruction.

2.2      Learning materials and innovation

Learning materials that used in SMU Grade School Department such as Power Point Presentation and other media for games. They usually include the game that related to the materials. They put it on motivation part.

2.3      Sources of learning and technology

SMU Grade School Department uses the textbooks as resource of learning. They use the books that has follow the K to 12 curriculum.

1.4      Authentic assessment

For Academic Subjects:  Filipino, English, Math, Science, Social Studies & Research the percentage of assessment such as :

Quizzes, Unit/Chapter Tests               35%

Periodical Examination                       35%
